CREATIVE  PROCESS

My process from concept to completion.

My creative process blends strategy and storytelling to bring products from concept to shelf. A structured workflow allows me to guide concepts from early ideation to final product while staying aligned with retail and licensing goals. The below will take you through the process of one of my designs: The Huffy Spider-Man bicycle.

Inspiration & Research

Every project begins with research. This includes trend analysis, brand exploration, and consumer insights. Using forecasting tools, character reference sheets, and internal brand guides I gather visual direction and align with early stakeholder input.

Ideation & Sketching

Next, I generate a range of concepts through digital tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Procreate. This phase is all about exploring form, storytelling, and visual tone. I share early ideas to gather feedback and build alignment before refining.

Identify the Scope

I identify the goals and challenges of the project. Using this information I create a timeline with a focus on the constraints. This groundwork ensures that I efficiently use valuable resources and time as I head into the next phase.

Refinement & Prototype

Once a concept is approved, it’s refined into samples. Close attention is paid to cost targets and manufacturing feasibility. This stage relies heavily on clear communication and collaboration with factory teams, industrial designers, licensing managers, and licensors like Marvel.

Launch & Evaluate

In the final stage, I coordinate with production, packaging, and marketing teams to ensure a smooth transition from prototype to on-shelf product. This includes print production setup, factory spec coordination, and final reviews for retail presentation.

My contributions to the Spider-Man bicycle line helped it become one of the top-selling collections at Walmart and other major retailers.
